A Belly Dance Benefit for the Prune Belly Syndrome Network
Joseph's Labyrinth is inspired by Christina King's nephew, who was born with Prune Belly Syndrome (also known as Eagle-Barrett Syndrome), a condition that affects one in 40,000 births, with 95% of cases occurring in male infants. Joseph and other PBS patients like him face a host of challenges from kidney failure, to urinary tract anomolies, deficiency of abdominal muscles, and other physical developmental challenges. It is for the labyrinth of medical and developmental issues that PBS patients must travel through that the benefit is named. This year's Joseph's Labyrinth benefit will raise funds for the Prune Belly Syndrome Network, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting PBS patiends and their families through education, communication, and connection with the medical field. The PBSN has helped countless families get support for and learn about this very rare and multi-faceted condition.
Performers: If you have submitted your name and video clip for consideration to be in the show, thank you. You will be receiving an email that lists the performers we were able to accommodate and give you further instructions on what other information we need for your performance. The submission process for performers is now closed. Thank you very much for your interest. |
